About DRI

Downtown Rhinelander Incorporated (DRI) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) collaboration of downtown property owners, business people and community volunteers who have jointly committed to strengthening the Rhinelander community and Downtown Rhinelander utilizing the Main Street Four-Point Approach, established by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The Main Street Approach ™ is community driven.  Its underlying premise is to encourage economic development within the context of historic preservation in ways appropriate to today’s marketplace.  Main Street’s Four Points are:  Design, Organization, Promotion and Economic Restructuring.  All Four-Points work together to build a sustainable and complete community revitalization effort.  Success is realized through an incremental and comprehensive approach.

Design – means getting Main Street into top physical shape.

Organization – involves getting everyone working toward the same goal.

Promotions – sell a positive district image!

Economic Restructuring – strengthens our community’s existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying its base.

In 2006 Rhinelander was designated a Wisconsin Main Street Community.

Volunteers are Downtown Rhinelander, Inc.’s most valuable assets. The knowledge and skills each volunteer brings to a particular committee heightens and strengthens the entire organization.  Contact us if you are interested in volunteering and please indicate which areas interest you.
