Honor someone you love by “adopting” a basket in his or her name.  Or, consider sponsoring a basket on behalf of your business or organization.

For $100 you can adopt a basket during the summer season – June through September.

All contributors will receive an invitation to a summer social event held to celebrate the basket sponsors and honored guests.

The tax-deductible support assists with the beautiful flower plant material, soil, daily watering and fertilizing.

About 40 entries are expected along the parade route that begins at the corner of Brown and Frederick Streets at the Police Department.  The route follows south on Brown and finishes at Anderson Street.

To celebrate the festivities many downtown stores are offering 17% off items in their store on Saturday, March 17th.  Customers need to wear green and bring a food item to the store to get the special discount price.  All donated food items will be given to the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry.  Participating shops will have a special 17% off green shamrock in the store window or on the door.

Sixteen downtown taverns and restaurants are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl from noon – 6 p.m.  Pub Crawl entry cards are available now at a cost of $5 each at these participating establishments:  Big Daddy’s, Bugsy’s, Bucketheads, Claridge Clubhouse, Elbo Room Lounge, Knight Gallery, Moonlighting, Northern Coffee Haus, Northwestern, Pat’s Tavern, Quade’s Place, Rhinelander Café & Pub, Robbie’s Place, Sackett’s Bar & Grill, Sunset Junction, and Zippy’s.  Participants visit at least 10 taverns or restaurants  in order to be in the drawing.  The winner of the drawing gets 17% of the proceeds and the rest, 83% of the proceeds go toward the Safe Ride Program.  The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. at Knight Gallery, 50 South Brown Street.  Winner does not have to be present to get prize.  For more information about the Pub Crawl, contact Nancy Lorbetske, 715-367-1516.

Visitors to our historic downtown may enjoy the many retail and entertainment venues downtown, or may begin their visit with a historic walking tour to view and read the history of the fine architecture represented by these beautiful structures.
