Rhinelander, founded in 1882, is the "Home of the Hodag": a not so-mythical-creature that roams the area, as you can plainly see in these video clips!.

Visitors may like to start their visit with the walking tour to view and read the history of the fine architecture represented by these beautiful structures. Then return to the downtown area to enjoy shopping and dining in any one of the over 200 businesses downtown. You may even want to plan your visits to coincide with one of our downtown festivities!
